What is it?

  • A segment is a Group or a List.
  • Assigning your contacts to groups and lists allows you to cluster your contacts whether they are prospects or customers into commonalities such as their demographics, behaviour, locations or any other similarities.
  • A list is a subsegment of a group.
  • One group may have many lists.

For example for a national business with customers across various States, may have the States as Groups – ie SA Customers and the List (subsegment) for SA Customers could be North, City, South.
  • Segment by buyers location
  • SA Buyers > Northern
  • SA Buyers > Southern
  • SA Buyers > Central
  • Segment by client behaviour
  • Buyers > Catering
  • Buyers > Bulk Offers

Why is this feature important?

Accurately segmenting your contacts will allow you to better personalise your communication with each segment.  You can send personalised newsworthy emails or autoresponders (pre-scheduled emails) to specific Groups and Lists.  Go to Newsletters Module to learn more about sending newsletters and autoresponders.
